Service Description: Community Legal Clinic
  • legal information and summary advice
  • legal representation in certain cases
  • community education to vulnerable groups via presentations at community agencies, schools, and employment programs
  • law reform/group advocacy for workers
Legal Services - information, legal advice and representation for low income non-unionized workers; handles:
  • workers' rights including employment standards
  • wrongful dismissal
  • termination/severance pay
  • human rights applications such as being dismissed from work because of a disability or because of asking for accommodation or a change in work duties due to a disability
  • health and safety issues including penalties/punishments or dismissal for expressing health and safety concerns
  • advice regarding all areas of Workers Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) claims, but representation only for specific types of claims such as Work Transition Services and Occupational Disease Appeals
