South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) is a dynamic, multi-site health care organization serving four rural communities in southern Grey and Bruce Counties.

SBGHC serves a community of approximately 44,000 people, plus 10,000 seasonal residents and 30,000 tourists across our four hospital sites located in Chesley, Durham, Kincardine and Walkerton. Our staff of close to 400 people provide high quality care in a friendly and safe environment.

Position: Echocardiographer

Region: Grey and Bruce

Description: Applications are currently being accepted for a Full Time Multi-Site Echocardiographer for the Kincardine site of the South Bruce Grey Health Centre with shifts also assigned to the Walkerton site. Weekend assignments required.

Qualifications:

Current or pending registration with CMRITO
Current registration with Sonography Canada or ARDMS considered an asset
Recent Cardiac ultrasound experience in a hospital environment considered an asset
Adult cardiac ultrasound experience as a registered cardiac sonographer: pediatric or fetal echocardiography considered an asset
Able to maintain confidentiality
Advanced Computer skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize a variety of functions
Proven interpersonal skills to successfully communicate with patients and staff
Demonstrated ability in the following competencies: initiative/self-management, problem solving and accountability
Able to work independently and co-operatively as part of a team
Positive advocate for professional body of Echocardiography
Must be able to provide flexibility and availability to meet the needs of the department
Knowledge of and adherence to SBGHC Core Values
Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at SBGHC through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes
Recent satisfactory performance with demonstrated excellence in attendance required
Knowledge of and adherence to Occupational Health & Safety and infection control principles
IV training/ Echo Contrast training an asset

Salary: $36.84 - $51.77 per hour

Terms of Employment: Full-time
