South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) is a dynamic, multi-site health care organization serving four rural communities in southern Grey and Bruce Counties.

SBGHC serves a community of approximately 44,000 people, plus 10,000 seasonal residents and 30,000 tourists across our four hospital sites located in Chesley, Durham, Kincardine and Walkerton. Our staff of close to 400 people provide high quality care in a friendly and safe environment.

Description: Applications are currently being accepted for four Full Time Registered Nurse (RN) Resource Team position for the Acute Care and ER departments of the South Bruce Grey Health Centre.

The successful applicants homesite will be either Walkerton or Kincardine and will be at times required to be reassigned to any of the other 3 sites, within SBGHC, in accordance with the Registered Nurse (RN) Resource Team Letter of Understanding dated April 23, 2026.

As a member of the Resource Team, the RN will be assigned to cover vacancies or assigned to sites requiring additional staffing support. The RN will work collaboratively as part of the interprofessional team to provide care to patients with stable and predictable outcomes, within the defined scope of practice established by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). The RN is responsible for health promotion, assessment, care provision, and treatment of health conditions through supportive, preventive, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitative interventions, with the goal of achieving or maintaining optimal patient function.

The Registered Nurse (RN) Resource Team position reports to the Manager of Patient Care at the assigned work site and to the Health Systems Coordinator regarding scheduling and assignment coordination.

Qualifications:

Required:

Registered with the Ontario College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse
Diploma/Degree from a recognized College/University, BScN preferred
Acute Care experience preferred
ER & Cardiac experience preferred
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with an ability to set priorities
Demonstrated strong patient/family health teaching skills
Demonstrated effective professional, interpersonal, and therapeutic communication skills required
Strong critical thinking, assessment, observation, interpersonal, facilitation and communication skills
Thorough knowledge of nursing principles, and demonstrated competence in procedures and practice in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Practice and entry to practice competencies for Registered Nurses, of the College of Nurses of Ontario and regulations of the Regulated Health Professions Act
Demonstrates knowledge, experience and the ability to care for patients with the following: initiation and maintenance of IV therapy, administration of medication above the drip chamber, blood and blood product administration, blood glucose monitoring, nasogastric tubes, wound management skills, routine and additional infection control precautions, normal and abnormal lab values
Demonstrated ability and desire to work in a collaborative team approach and to adhere to accepted standards of personal conduct
Commitment to continued professional development and learning
Must be able to work independently
Willingness to participate in process improvement
Committed to the values of the corporation and to courtesy and compassion in patient care
A positive work and attendance record is essential
Evidence of ongoing professional development
Basic computer literacy required e.g. email, clinical applications, intra/internet
Knowledge and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety, Infection Control, and Health Centre policies and procedures
