Time is Running Out! One Week Left to Register for the Driven to Quit Smoking Challenge

Perth County residents who want to kick their tobacco addiction have one week left to register for the Canadian Cancer Society’s Driven to Quit Challenge. The registration deadline is Friday, February 28, 2014.

Individuals who stay smoke-free for the month of March could win their choice of a 2014 Dodge Avenger or Dodge Journey. There are also seven cash prizes of $1000 to be won.

Ontario residents aged 19 and older who have used tobacco for at least 10 months in the last year can enter. Each entrant must sign up with a support buddy, who could also win a cash prize of $100. To be eligible for the prize draw, participants must register by February 28 and then stay smoke-free for the entire month of March 2014.

To register and for details about the Driven to Quit Challenge, visit www.driventoquit.ca.

Quit Support

To support those making a quit attempt, registrants may contact the Perth District Health Unit to access self-help resources and to receive free, one-to-one counselling through the Stop Smoking Clinic.

As a new feature this year, every person who registers for the Driven to Quit Challenge will receive a confirmation email that includes a $4 discount coupon for either Nicorette gum or Nicoderm patches. Additionally, any person who registers and calls Smoker’s Helpline for support will have the option of being emailed an additional $6 discount coupon.
